My archival discipline is multifaceted, encompassing the technical aspects of preservation and restoration, as well as a creative process. By engaging independent filmmakers to reflect on their past works, I help expand and diversify a more accessible cinematic catalog.

With independent film, the work stands on its own but necessitates an advocate to make a case to archives and funders, as well as to audiences. Preservation activities go beyond safeguarding the medium's integrity; they involve developing an understanding of the artist and their work, contextualizing each motion picture, and its resurrection.

Through these ideals I aim to further an appreciation for the timeless nature of the art form, underscore the repercussions of its increasing fragility, and propose a more profound engagement with the work itself.

Personal Legacy Memorabilia:

As an archivist and documentarian, I care for and investigate artifacts of the past. Through the study and cataloguing of materials, I collaborate with their associated individuals and communities to bring into focus untold stories. Working with multi-media collections of film, videotape, photographs, and ephemera, I organize, explore, curate and create that which represents a person, place and coterie.

These activities may involve collaborating with individuals and families to preserve and archive artists' estates in partnership with libraries, museums, or historical societies. By working alongside institutions and community organizations, these initiatives seek to share memorabilia that weaves together personal narratives with broader cultural histories. In doing so, they create records of what once was, ensuring that future generations can connect with and learn from footprints of the past.
